Columbus, OH— Brandon Simmons, student activist turned candidate for Columbus school board, has received the Gun Sense Candidate stamp of approval from Moms Demand Action, a national organization that seeks to end the epidemic of gun violence in America.

Moms Demand Action supports candidates who prioritize gun safety and who are committed to working towards reducing gun violence in their communities. As a Gun Sense Candidate, Simmons has pledged to advocate for evidence-based policies that help keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals and promote safe gun storage practices.

"I'm proud to be a Gun Sense Candidate, as a recent graduate I know all too well the fear of a school shooting our students must battle with everyday." A central point of Simmons’ campaign is inventing more dollars into school psychologists and partnering with community organizations to increase mental health services available in the District”
